 Mark grew up in East Lansing as the middle child of 3 boys. Mike, the oldest, lives in the Lansing area with his wife and Jeff lives in the Indianapolis area with his family. Mark's Mom still resides in the Lansing area. His Dad died in 2003.
After High School Mark graduated from Grand Rapids Community College, and then attended classes at MSU, Lansing Community College, and Davenport University.
Before coming to work for Durmatallic (now Flowserve) in Kalamazoo, Mark worked for MacDonnell Douglas (now Boeing). He is currently a programmer for Flowserve where he has worked for 15 years.
Mark has been all over the world, mostly for work, traveling to Europe, South America, the Orient, Australia and India.
Mark snow skis, roller blades and loves a good single malt scotch now and then.

Julie wondered if she would ever meet a guy as fantastic as her Step Dad. Well she did, it just took 52 years and she couldn't be happier.
Growing up in the small town of Allegan, Julie is the youngest of 3. Her sister, Ellen lives in Central New Jersey with her family and her brother, Ted is a world class chef at his own restaurant in Jupiter, Florida. Julie's Mom lives in Kalamazoo, and her Dad lives in Allegan with his wife.
Because Julie hated college she attended as a non-traditional student and holds and Associates degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and a Bachelors and a Masters from WMU.
Julie has worked in several fields including Accounting, Benefit Consulting, Modeling, and Internet Developer.
Working from home, Julie started her own company in 1996, called Bits & Bytes, where she writes Web sites (imgeeky.com). She also started a nonprofit organization that teaches women's self-defense classes (theladyprogram.com). This goes along with her 2nd degree black belt which she earned before meeting Mark.
Julie loves to cook and experiment with new dishes. Fortunately, Mark eats everything she makes.

We're so much alike - Geeky, home bodies - yet we like to travel together, eat the same foods, and make wine. We became certified in scuba diving in early 2009 and enjoy sailing, canoeing, and walking. We enjoy our togetherness as well as our private time. |
